40th Annual Statewide Disability Legislative Reception

Zooming in on Disability: Funding & 40 years of Advocacy

Please join us for a time where people with disabilities and the organizations that represent them meet with legislators from across the state to discuss issues of critical importance to people with disabilities: Transportation, Affordable Housing, Employment, Residential Sup-ports, Community Access, Mental Health & Personal Care.
Although the pandemic has curtailed in-person meetings, we can still get together on Zoom and hear from the disability community.

Spring 2021 Parent & Children’s Leadership Training Institute

The Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) is a free,11-week online college course that teaches parents, community members and professionals working with families to understand systems and develop civic, leadership and public speaking skills. The course offers five college credits to those wishing to continue their higher education. As a graduation requirement, participants develop a community project to benefit their schools, neighborhoods and other families.
The Children’s Leadership Training Institute (CLTI) is free to the children (ages 5 to 12) of parents attending the PLTI. Children receive age-appropriate, literacy-based, leadership classes and take-home books. Students work on a community project together.
WHEN: The Spring PLTI & CLTI classes begin Saturday, February, 27, 2021 and end on Saturday, May 22, 2021. Online classes are held via Zoom on Wednesday evenings from 6:00PM – 9:00PM and Saturdays from 9:00AM – 12:00PM
