  • For parents and allies of young children with disabilities and developmental delay. A course in activism looking at early learning and disability equity

Did you know that in Washington preschoolers with disabilities are segregated at about twice the national rate? More so than most any other state, we create separate spaces for children with disabilities, and that is not healthy.

The Inclusion Academy is about changing that. It is about helping people understand what is going on and what is at stake, while also helping them develop strategies and practice skills to build inclusive communities.

This course is about advocacy – but also about grounding people in the research behind inclusion and the legal basis for it. We also dip into concepts like behavior as communication, person-centered planning, and universal design for learning so more people understand the positive steps we can all be taking to making our communities inclusive. We created this academy for parents of young children just starting out, and the allies helping them out. Help us spread the word!

Applications due May 14

Course starts on May 27
